Learning Support

Tutor System 

Japanese students act as tutors to provide individual support to international students when they first enroll, to help them quickly become accustomed to life, study, and research in Japan.
The students eligible for this system are international students who are planning to enroll at our university for more than three months and who have been issued a residence card. In principle, the applicable period and number of hours are as follows:

Undergraduate international students (full-time students) One year after enrollment (80 hours of support)
Graduate students (full-time students) Six months in Japan (20 hours of support)
JGB Scholarship (JGB research students) Six months in Japan (20 hours of support)
All international students who plan to enroll for more than three months and who have been issued a residence card One month after arriving in Japan (15 hours of support)

Examples of Specific Support

To provide support to ensure that students’ academic and research activities at our university proceed smoothly.
?To explain academic content that international students may not fully understand, and to serve as an advisor by proofreading their Japanese writing when they prepare experiment and practical training reports.
?To help international students understand daily life, culture, and society in Japan through clear explanations.

English proficiency support

Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology 's Organization for the Advancement of Education and Global Learning is working to help students improve their English proficiency as part of their research support for TUAT students.
We support the improvement of English proficiency through various approaches, such as learning through online tools, holding workshops, and supporting the brush-up of English presentations.
